The expansion of Marathon's Garyville refinery is one of the largest private sector construction projects in the U.S. The GME project is expected to require approximately 2,000 construction workers, with approximately 4,000 workers at peak periods. In addition, the project will add approximately 200 permanent Marathon positions and 75 to 80 permanent contractor positions at the refinery.
