 | The refinery has been an OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) Star facility since 1994, promoting effective work site-based safety and health |
 | The refinery has been awarded 12 Louisiana Governor's Awards for Environmental Leadership Programs. |
 | In 1997, the refinery was accepted in the EPA's Voluntary Early Reduction Program for Air Toxics under the Clean Air Act-the only U.S. refinery afforded this recognition. |
 | The Louisiana Wildlife Federation and the National Wildlife Federation named the Garyville facility Conservation Corporation of the Year in 2001. |
 | The refinery is the first and only oil refinery in the U.S. to be accepted as a member of the EPA's National Environmental Performance Track which recognizes top environmental performers. |
 | In 2003, the refinery was accepted in the EPA's National Waste Minimization Partnership Program. |
